Gerry Brownlee is New Zealand’s Minister of Transport, the Member of Parliament for the Christchurch constituency of Ilam and Leader of the House, managing the Government’s legislative programme. During his political career, Mr. Brownlee has served as Junior Whip and Deputy Leader of the National Party, Minister for Economic Development, Minister of Energy and Resources, and Associate Minister for the Rugby World Cup. In the wake of two devastating earthquakes that struck Christchurch, New Zealand’s second largest city, he was appointed Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery.
