James K Galbraith is the Lloyd M. Bentsen Jr. Chair in Government/Business Relations and Professor of Government, Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, at the University of Texas at Austin, USA and is the son of celebrated American economist John Kenneth Galbraith. He is the leading authority on the measurement and understanding of inequality at the University of Texas and the author of "Inequality and Instability: A Study of the World Economy Just Before the Great Crisis". He is director of the University of Texas Inequality Project. His other books include The Predator State, Inequality and Industrial Change, and Created Unequal. Galbraith is a senior scholar with the Levy Economics Institute, and chair of the board of Economists for Peace and Security, an international association of professional economists.
