09:00 - 10:30Friday, 23 May 2014

Gunnar Lindberg has been Director of the Norwegian Institute of Transport Economics (TØI) since April 2013. Previously, he was Research Director at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI). His research in transport economics has focused on external cost of transport. TØI is the biggest transport research environment in Norway and conducts multi-disciplinary research for Norwegian ministries, administrations, the Research Council of Norway and the European Commission. Norwegian transport policy has for many years promoted the use of electric vehicles and during 2013 the market share increased rapidly to around 8% of total car sales. Over 15 000 electric vehicles are running on the Norwegian network. TØI carries out several research projects and follows this development closely.
