Since August 2013, Ryuji Masuno serves as Vice-Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). He has a background of nearly 40 years in the field of transport, having occupied positions such as Vice Commandant for the Japan Coast Guard, Deputy Vice-Minister for Security and Transport Safety Policy, and Director-General for Road Transport Bureau. He oversees and directs the Ministry’s international activities regarding transport policies in general. He earned his Law Degree from the University of Tokyo.
