Travelling to Leipzig

Arriving by plane
Nearest airport: Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ)
Many airlines offer direct flights to this airport or have good connections from Frankfurt, Munich or Vienna.

Connecting from Leipzig/Halle Airport to Congress Center Leipzig or Leipzig City:

...by Rail
The "Flughafen Express" (railway shuttle) runs every 30 minutes between Leipzig Central Railway Terminal and Leipzig/Halle Airport. The journey takes 14 minutes, and the service stops at the conference centre.


...by Shuttle Bus
Delegates are offered free mini-bus shuttles between Leipzig/Halle airport and the conference centre throughout the Summit programme days (21 – 23 May). Look for the 2014 Summit Help Desks at the Airport. You can also book the shuttle during your online registration.


...by Taxi
Taxi services are available at the airport. Please note that costs of transfers by taxi are not covered by the Summit organiser.

 

Connecting from Berlin Airports to Congress Center Leipzig or Leipzig City:
From Berlin, delegates are offered a transfer by shuttle bus from both Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schönefeld airports to Leipzig:
- return ticket : 99.00 EUR.
This option is available through the online registration process.

Arriving by train
Leipzig’s main railway station is located in the city centre. It has a travel centre that is open daily until 22:00 and a service point on the concourse open 24 hours a day.

Delegates are offered a preferential rate for Deutsche Bahn trains from any station in Germany to Leipzig:
- return ticket (first class): 99.00 EUR.
This option is available through the online registration process.

Arriving by car
Congress Center Leipzig is located on the A14 motorway (Dresden-Magdebur-Hannover). To get there, take either the Messegelande or Leipzig Zentrum exit. Parking is available at the conference centre.

Travelling within Leipzig
Summit Help Desks at official hotels and the conference centre will assist with transportation enquiries and requests.
 

Getting to/from Congress Center Leipzig from Leipzig City:
...by Tram
Take tram no. 16 from Leipzig Central station to "Messegelände" (the terminus) - the journey takes 19 minutes (free of charge upon presentation of your 2014 Summit delegate badge). The trams run every 10 minutes and will take you to the conference centre campus. It is an easy five minute walk to the main entrance of the conference centre.
 

...by Mini-bus Shuttle
Delegates are offered free mini-bus shuttles between the official hotels and the conference centre throughout the Summit programme days.


...by Taxi
A taxi will take you directly to the conference centre along the same route as the bus shuttle. Please note that costs of transfers by taxi are not covered by the Summit organiser.

Take Federal Road B2 to travel from Leipzig’s city centre.
