Bryant Walker Smith is a fellow at the Center for Internet and Society at Stanford Law School, a fellow at the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford (CARS), and an incoming assistant professor in the School of Law and (by courtesy) the School of Engineering at the University of South Carolina. He is also chair of the Emerging Technology Law Committee of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies, a member of the On-Road Automated Vehicle Standards Committee of SAE International, and a member of the New York Bar. As an internationally recognised expert on the legal aspects of vehicle automation, Walker Smith taught the first-ever course on this topic and is regularly consulted by government, industry, and media.
