Butch Wlaschin provides national leadership to state and local governments in maintaining, operating, and upgrading transportation (highway) assets. His office establishes policy, guidance and technical assistance on asset management, pavements, materials, and construction. Butch currently leads a national effort to assess infrastructure health, and co-chairs the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Working Group on Adaptation. He holds a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a registered Professional Engineer and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Transport Research Board (TRB) and has over 44 years' experience in transportation.
